Tashi Wangdi wins bronze in 2nd India open International Boxing Tournament

Tashi Wangdi had to settle for bronze in the ongoing 2nd India open International boxing tournament as he was defeated 5-0 in the semifinals played in Guwahati, India today.

Tashi Wangdi entered the semi-final stage after defeating a boxer from Uzbekistan in the 49 kg category. However, despite his commendable performance today, Indian boxer Govind Kumar Sahani overpowered the Bhutanese fighter and won the bout by unanimous decision.

Two female and seven Bhutanese boxers participated in this year’s edition of the competition. The annual event was organized by the Boxing Federation of India.
