The consecration of the newly constructed Tara Lhaden Zhingkham Lhakhang at the Pangrizampa in Thimphu was held today. His Majesty the King and the His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo graced the consecration ceremony. The consecration ceremony was presided over by His Holiness the Je Khenpo.
Nestled amidst a grove of cypress trees overlooking the Pangrizampa Lhakhang, the Tara Lhaden Zhingkham Lhakhang is the first of its kind, constructed under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother Sangay Choden Wangchuck in October 2010 for the greater peace and prosperity of all sentient beings. It is also to avert national disasters and for the welfare of all the Bhutanese.
The Lhakhang is also dedicated as a Tara mandala offering to ensure the long life and well being of His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo
The Project Coordinator, Dasho Sangay Wangchuk said the Lhakhang is first of its kind in the country exclusively dedicated to 21 Taras.

The one storied Lhakhang houses 21 Tara clay statues, sculpted by prominent Bhutanese artisans.
While at the ceremony His Majesty the King and the His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo were received in a chipdrel procession.
The marchang ceremony was followed by the Tashi Ngatsel prayers led by His Holiness the Je Khenpo. His Holiness the Gyaltse Trulku was also present.
Following the prayer ceremony, His Majesty the King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the Royal Family members and others circumambulated the Lhakhang.
The consecration ceremony was also attended by other members of the Royal Family. The Prime Minister, the Opposition Leader, the Speaker, Chairperson of the National Council, ministers and senior government officials were also present.
