The first ever private institute to provide professional training on tailoring, Druk Tshemzo Training Institute, was inaugurated, in Thimphu today. The Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Ngeema Sangay Tshempo, inaugurated the institute.
The institute will provide professional trainings on tailoring and embroidery.
Speaking at the launch, Lyonpo highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting country’s culture and tradition. He said Bhutanese artisans could look at capturing the international market as well.
The institute will provide two basic-level courses in tailoring and six specialised courses.
The Institute currently has 22 trainees.
