(Strike Update) The 24-hour strike in the Indian state of West Bengal was lifted today. The main border gates in Samtse and Phuentshlong, which remained closed yesterday opened to traffic from 6 am this morning.
Passenger buses and private vehicles plying to various destinations from Samtse and Phuentsholing were able to move.
The strike was called by the Joint Action Committee against the inclusion of additional lands to the Gorkhaland territorial Administration.
