According to international research and media, coronavirus can survive on certain surfaces for hours and days. The Prime Minister said import of goods in the country has the risk to bring the virus although the risk is not very high.
“The virus can be present on the things we touch. How long will the virus remain on things will depend on its surfaces. Since the virus can survive for two to three days on certain surfaces, there are chances to get the virus if we touch things that have the virus on it. That is why we are telling that frequent hand washing is important. So on the goods that we import, I cannot say there is no chance of the virus at all although the probability is very less,” said Dr Lotay Tshering, the Prime Minister.
