Four special athletes, who took part in the 14th World Special Olympics Summer Games in Los Angeles, USA, returned home, today. The four athletes from Draktsho Vocational Training Centre brought home six medals, including three gold medals.
They competed in a series of Jump, Run and Throw events. The four athletes were selected last year from 150 participants during the National Sports Competition.
This is the second time Bhutan is participating in the Special Olympics.
Over 6,000 participants from 165 countries took part in the Special Olympics, this year, which ended on Sunday. The Special Olympics is held every two years.
