The health ministry will roll out the vaccination drive for children who are yet to receive the second dose of COVID vaccines from Tuesday. It constitutes about 45,000 children between the ages of 12-17 years in 15 districts.
This is following the arrival of 100,000 doses of Moderna vaccine on Friday which is the first consignment from a total of 250,000 vaccines procured by the government. Along with the children, adults who are waiting for the second dose of Moderna will also get their jabs.
At the end of the vaccination campaign which concludes on Saturday, the country’s full vaccination coverage for its eligible population will be more than 80 per cent.
Dr Sonam Wangchuk, a member of NI-TAG said the vaccines have already been dispatched to 15 districts.
