The search and rescue team was unable to find the six missing workers involved in the Wangchhu bridge collapse incident even today. According to sources, the team sent three kayaks around 22 kilometres downstream but could not find the missing workers. They now suspect the workers to be buried under the debris in the river.
An excavator was deployed to search for the bodies today. A source says the excavator paved the way from the main road and will reach the site of the accident by tomorrow.
There were nine workers working on the bridge when it collapsed at around 4.30 pm on Tuesday. The rescue team recovered three bodies on the same day of the accident. The search and the rescue team comprising of DeSuup, Army, Police and officials from Project DANTAK continued the search yesterday and called off the rescue mission towards yesterday afternoon after the continuous falling boulders and the fear of fragile structure slowed the rescue mission.
