There are 33 schools in the capital. And according to the principals of the schools, admission pressure is increasing year by year. Limited number of classrooms and other school facilities are further aggravating the situation. To ease the problem, the education ministry has planned to build a higher secondary school in the capital.

Meanwhile, contrary to the capital, schools in far flung dzongkhags like Pema Gatshel and Zhemgang see no admission pressure. The enrolment in the schools in these dzongkahgs is declining ever year.
