For the first time after its establishment in 2010, the SABAH-Bhutan organised an exhibition on textile and arts. SABAH Bhutan stands for SAARC Business Association of Home based workers.
The Ministry of Education’s secretary, Sangay Zam, inaugurated the five-day exhibition, in Thimphu, today.
One of SABAH members, 47 years old Zangmo, said it is difficult to sell her products on her own. She said being a member of SABAH allows her to sell the products and get paid on time.
The members of SABAH have increased over time. SABAH’s Executive Director, Karma Thinley Dorji says they intend to be self-sufficient by 2017 and go international too.
