By the end of this year, the government will be launching 62 G2C services in 23 community centres.
G2C stands for government to citizens. It is an initiative to reach the most common services to the people quickly, electronically.
They include the issuance of security clearance, trade license, and agriculture and forestry related clearances.
During a press briefing yesterday, the Information and Communication Ministry announced that the Prime Minister will launch these services at the community centres on 25th December.
By the mid next year, all the geogs will have a centre each, connected with fiber optic cable. It is estimated to cost the government more than a billion ngultrums.
