The Royal Civil Service Commission has announced a major policy change regarding the selection of executives. According to a notification issued yesterday, candidates from the specialist category and outside the civil service and can now apply for civil service executive positions.
This, according to the RCSC, is to expand the talent pool for leadership positions in the civil service. However, the candidates will have to go through various assessments such as situational judgment tests, and group and individual interviews to assess their skills, experiences and qualification required for the position.
Senior representatives from agencies will also be involved in the selection process. Independent members and experts may also be included in the selection panel.
The latest announcement amends the selection criteria for executives announced in 2021 and 2022. The RCSC was not available for more information.
