RBP celebrates Police Raising DayThe Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) celebrated the 51st Police Raising Day in Thimphu, today. The day marks a special occasion for the police fraternity as the RBP completes 51 years of service to the nation.

To commemorate the event, prizes were awarded to this year’s winners of the Crime Reduction Competition. Trongsa Branch stood first followed by Wangdue Phodrang. Samtse came third.

The competition, started since 2013, is an annual event.

Royal Bhutan Army’s Chief Operation Officer, Lieutenant General Batoo Tshering graced the occasion and expressed gratitude to the Supreme Commander in Chief, His Majesty The King for supporting the Armed forces in various fields.

For this year’s raising day, the police pledged to enhance public friendly policing and improve response time. They also pledged to intensify operations to curtail drug-related issues and make RBP a corruption free organization.

The Royal Bhutan police was founded by the Third Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck in 1965.
