The rainfall this morning helped contain a forest fire, which had been burning for the last three days in Ruechhedkha Village under Ruebisa Gewog in Wangdue Phodrang.
The fire started at around 1:50 PM Monday.
It damaged over 130 acres of forest including around 50 acres of Ruechhedkha Community Forest.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Strong wind and inaccessible terrain made it difficult for the fire-fighters to contain the fire.
