Punakha hospital has been handling an overwhelming number of patients in the last few weeks.
Our reporter, Choni Dema, says the number of people visiting the hospital has shot up significantly because of the Wangchen.
Close to 700 people visit the hospital every day, many suffering from cold.
On a normal day, the hospital sees only about 300 patients.
A Health Assistant said the hospital could run out of drugs anytime.
There are four emergency medical service units including an indigenous centre at the Wangchen. But owing to the sheer number of people gathered for the wangchen, it has been challenging for the health centres to adequately cater to the medical needs of the people.
In what could be the largest ever congregation in the country, over a hundred thousand people are gathered in Punakha for the Wangchen.
