Poultry farmers in Tsirang, the second-highest egg-producing district in the country are facing an acute shortage of poultry feed after the nationwide lockdown was enforced from August 11.
Poultry farmers say, due to the sudden announcement of the lockdown, they could not stock poultry feed. Following the feed shortage, there are reports of birds dying on a daily basis due to insufficient feeding.
Update: Two trucks ferrying 500 bags of poultry feed reached Tsirang this morning.
