The President of the People’s Democratic Party, Tshering Tobgay, launched his Party’s election campaign in Punakha, this morning. Speaking to the people, including party supporters and coordinators, Tshering Tobgay, urged the gathering to choose the right party.
PDP’s President Tshering Tobgay also said, if elected, PDP would focus on tackling unemployment problem. He said there would be jobs for every youth including school drop-outs. He also pledged to improve and develop infrastructure such as farm roads.
Tshering Tobgay said his Party will also focus on poverty reduction.
“For the better development activities at the grass root level, it is important that the local government be given due importance…” said Tshering Tobgay.
He also said for gewog development activities they are planning to give two million each to every gewog in a year. He said that money could be used to solve any kind of problem each gewog faces.
Later in the afternoon, PDP’s President met with the people of Wangdue Phodrang, who had gathered at the auditorium of Bajo Higher Secondary School.
