New South Wales Fire and Rescue in Australia donated sixty sets of full structural uniforms and several uniforms for bush fire fighting to the Royal Bhutan Police Fire Services Division today in Thimphu.
The set includes fire fighting jackets, pants, boots and gloves. Structural uniform refers to uniforms used for containing fires in any structure such as houses and bridges whereas bush fire fighting uniforms are used during wildfires. The grant was made possible by an Australian firefighter Thomas Wilson through Tarayana Foundation facilitated by a well-wisher of Bhutan, Julia Booth.
According to Tarayana Foundation, works to bring over a thousand uniforms are already underway through the project.
