Nima Gyeltshen, 29, who was nominated from Chang gewog has secured the most votes in Thimphu Dzongkhag. He has 2250 votes under his belt.
Nima plans to put up the Tobacco Act for discussion in the National Council along with issues like crime and drugs.
“I would also like to support press freedom,” he said prior to the elections.
Nima had worked in the tourism industry for five years, and has a Bachelors in Social and Legal Science from Pune University, India.
Tshering, 30, who was nominated from Thimthrom secured 1,624 votes, and Tshering Tashi, 26, the nominee from MaedwangGewog managed 1,511 votes.
