In a positive development, the officials of the Druk Green Power Corporation or DGPC have successfully restored the Wind Turbine Unit-1 at Ruebisa in Wangdue Phodrang, after it was shut down for several months due to a high voltage issue.

Despite a lack of professional wind turbine engineers in the country, DGPC was able to resolve the problem and put the turbine back into service starting last week.

However, the Unit-2 remains inactive since February 2021 due to a different issue. One of its blades has broken apart from the rotor hub. Discussions are currently underway with the company that supplied the equipment to determine the best procedure for repairing this turbine.
