Pelden Enterprise Ltd. (formerly known as Bhutan Ferro Industries Ltd.) at Pasakha was damaged by a fire at around 6 AM today.
The management suspects an electric short circuit in the transformer as the cause. Along with the transformer, the furnace is also lost to the fire. Police, staff of the factory and employees from nearby factories contained the fire
after battling for about three hours.
The insurance team is investigating the damage incurred. Until the damage is restored, the production will be at a halt.
