The Bhutan National Bank Limited (BNBL) officially inaugurated its new Corporate office building.
The construction of the unique blend of modern and local architecture corporate building began in 2014 spending about Nu 545 M, and in February this year, the bank began its operation in the new cooperate office. The new building has the capacity to accommodate more than 300 employees. Along with the office, the building also has other facilities for their employees like fitness centre, childcare centre and library room among others.
Meanwhile, for the convenience of its clients, the bank also launched four banking services consisting of two banking products and two credit features. The two banking products are BNB Ngotshab and BNB Payment Gateway. BNB Ngotshab is a banking solution where agents across the country will offer and assist people in availing BNB services.
“We are opening agency banking whereby any person or individuals like shopkeepers or any business entity can become our partner and sign up. The agent will earn some commission from the bank depending on the transactions that he is offering to the locality of his area. On the BNB payment gateway, it is basically to address the hassles that our incoming tourists are facing these days. When they wanted to come to Bhutan, it is very cumbersome to send payment to Bhutan,” said Tashi, a Strategy officer of BNBL.
According to BNBL, the Payment Gateway will accept VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover and many different kinds of cards. This will enable the tourists to enjoy the services at their convenience.
And the two credit features of the bank include Relationship Pricing and Consumer Loan Origination. Relationship pricing or ‘Thuendrel Gatshor’ is a system whereby the bank acknowledges the value of business being given by its customers. At the need of the year, based on the business they have given, the bank will give some kind of cash rewards or discount on certain services. While the Consumer Loan Origination is the digitisation of the loan appraisal system in the bank.
The Bhutan National Bank Limited is a commercial bank founded in 1997. Today, the bank is providing its services to more than a hundred and eighty thousand clients.
