Bhutan will soon have a new national basketball team. Team members will be selected from the under sixteen coaching camp which is underway in the capital. The three weeks camp began from today.
The coaching camp is being guided by the local as well as international coaches. The coaches will share tips on improving basketball skills, as well as train the participants to be disciplined players. The national team will be formed after a thorough selection of the participants.
The camp which has been organised by the Bhutan Basketball Federation will end on January 25.
Meanwhile, about 200 children from six to 10 years underwent a five day football course in Gelephu. The training was aimed to create a platform and generate interest for the children at grassroots to get equal opportunity to play the game.
It is also to promote the sport at a young age and impart positive attitude towards developing better footballers in the country.
The training was organized by FIFA or Federation International De Football Association in collaboration with the Bhutan Football Federation.
