A 31-year-old woman from Tsirang passed away in Punakha Hospital after the taxi she was travelling in fell 55 metres below the road at Chaksagang along the Thimphu-Lobesa highway, yesterday. The taxi was driven by the deceased’s husband.
According to the police, the family members, including two children were heading towards Tsirang from Paro when the incident took place. BBS learnt that the husband and the children are in stable condition.
Police suspect loss of control when approaching a sharp turn as the cause of the accident.
