Phoorzur (Phumzor) village under Langthil Gewog, one of the most remote communities in Trongsa and home to the Monpa community will finally have a Lhakhang in their village. There are 14 households in the village.
The Ministry of Home & Cultural Affairs (MoHCA) approved the lhakhang construction after repeated discussions in the Dzongkhag Tshogdu.
In the absence of a lhakhang, the community has been performing all kinds of rituals, at the small health out-reach clinic in the village.
Lhajay, the Tshogpa of Jangbi chiwog said that without a Lhakhang they face a lot of problems while performing annual tshechu and funeral rituals.
Langthil Gup, Sonam Dhendup said that the village is believed to be a sacred place visited by Guru Rimpoche and a temple in the village would be ideal to organise Manidundrup or Bazaguru prayers.
The one-storied lhakhang is going to be constructed with a budget of Nu 1 M and is expected to take around three months.
The village, which is located in a protected area, has no access to road, electricity or communication network.
