Bhutan Postal Corporation Limited’s messenger allegedly embezzled over Nu 4.9 M of Election Commission of Bhutan’s fund, the Anti-Corruption Commission’s finding says. ACC’s investigation says the messenger withheld original bills meant for ECB and claimed more using false bills.
The investigation also found out the ECB’s receptionist had colluded with the messenger.
ACC states that the bills were mostly charges for sending out postal ballots during the 2013 parliamentary elections and other letter postings of ECB.
The case has now been forwarded to the Office of Attorney General.
