Thimphu District Court sentenced a man, 30, to 30 years imprisonment for stabbing a taxi driver, 50, to death.
His accomplice, a 23-year-old man, has been sentenced to 10 years.
Another man, 26, who failed to report the crime, has been imprisoned for eight months.
The verdict, passed yesterday, said the prime accused and the accomplice should also jointly pay compensation of closely to Nu 5,00,000 to the deceased’s wife.
The incident took place in April, last year.
They had stabbed the driver, after they couldn’t agree on the cab fare.
They had then disposed off the body on the way to the Royal Thimphu College.
