A 40-year-old man is undergoing treatment at the Wangdichholing General hospital in Bumthang after he was mauled by a black bear. The incident took place at around 7 pm yesterday when the victim and his relative were heading home after taking the cattle to the pastureland.
The man was admitted to the hospital at 3 am this morning.
According to the doctor, the man sustained multiple lacerations or cuts on the scalp and legs. The victim underwent 41 stitches on the scalp and two stitches on the legs. However, the x-ray of the scalp showed no bone fractures.
The man is from Sangsangma village under Chhoekhor gewog.
