Content of lead and Monosodium Glutamate in Maggi noodles is within the permissible level, the test results of samples, sent to India and Thailand, reveals. Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority had sent about 39 samples for tests.
At Meet the Press session today, the Agriculture and Forests minister Yeshey Dorji said the ministry is reviewing when to lift the ban on sale of Maggi noodles in the country.
The sale of Maggi noodles was banned in the country on June 6 after Nestle; the parent company of Maggi noodles notified the ministry to recall the product.
The minister added that due to lack of equipment, the tests couldn’t be completed at the National Food Testing Laboratory in Yusipang, Thimphu.
