Since the start of Farm Mechanisation Programme in Bhutan in 1984, farmers across the country embraced the development. People welcomed all sorts of machinery for agriculture works. And in Paro, farmers replaced the traditional pestle and mortar with machines to produce flattened rice, locally known as Sib. The machine has not only reduced the manpower pressure but also helped the people generate additional income.
