The lost relics of Namgyel Tse Lhakhang in Chhubu gewog in Punakha have been recovered after almost six and a half years.
The relics; a statue, cats’ eye, beads, and a silver amulet, were recovered following the arrest of two suspects last month. They were apprehended in two different instances by the police.
The case was first reported to Punakha Police station in March, 2009 by the lhakhang’s caretaker.
According to Sewla Shedra’s Principal, the lost statue is that of lhakhang’s main local deities.
