Lhuentse district will have two candidates to choose from for the district’s National Council seat. The Dhamngoi Zomdu for the district ended on Wednesday.
39-year-old Tshering Penjor from Minjey was nominated from Minjey Gewog.
He is the lone candidate for the upcoming National Council Elections from Minjey Gewog. He secured 204 yes votes and three no votes.
Similarly, in Maenbi Gewog, 48-year-old Kelzang Lhundup from Maenjabi village was the only nominee. He secured 314 yes votes and 30 no votes.
Gangzur, Jarey, Khoma, Kurtoed, Maedtsho, and Tsaenkhar Gewogs did not have any aspiring candidates.
More than a thousand people attended the Damngoi Zomdu in various gewogs and the Dzongkhag Throm.
