(Update): The Ministry of Labour and Human Resources has sent a reminder letter to the Bhutan Broadcasting Service’s Chairman to respond to their directives. Labour ministry had directed BBS to pay a penalty of Nu 11,250 for violating the procedures of regulation while recruiting a manager. It had sent the letter on July 3.
The ministry says it will take actions against BBS if the media house fails to meet the deadline of August 5.
BBS Chairman, Tenzin Dhendup says they have not been able to come up with a decision since one of the board members is missing. He said all the ground works have been completed.
BBS is alleged to have followed undue procedures while selecting its Manager for Administration and Finance Department in May, this year. Six Management Committee Members had voted after the post was floated internally.
