King's cup to be reinstated

Kings-CupAfter nine years, King’s Cup, a football tournament will begin at Changlimithang National Stadium soon.

King’s Cup was first organized in the 1980’s. Then, it was called the Federations Cup. The tournament was last played in 2004. And that’s when the name of the tournament was changed to King’s Cup.

Nine teams from Bhutan, Bangladesh, India and Nepal will take part in the tournament, which begins on the 20th of next month and will go on until 9th of August.

The tournament will be played on League cum Knockout basis. A total of 15 matches will be played.

It will be organized by the Bhutan Football Federation in collaboration with Woezer Events.
