The Japanese government will provide an assistance of about Nu.12.9 Million under grant contracts for three projects.
The money will be pumped into Bumthang Dzonkhag, Thimphu and the Royal Bhutan Police under three projects. The three projects are introduction of compactor truck and vacuum truck in Bumthang, supply of compactor trucks in Thimphu city and supply of patrol cars at Thimphu’s community police centres.
The Ambassador of Bhutan V. Namgyel and Japanese Ambassador Takeshi Yagi signed the grant contracts at the Japanese Embassy in New Delhi, India.
Speaking at the signing, Ambassador V.Namgyel said the grant assistance to RBP will help curb crime in the capital city. He said the four additional compactor trucks will help keep Thimphu city clean. He also thanked the Government of Japan for the grant assistance.
