Health Minister, Tandin Wangchuk, inaugurated the 11-kilometer Jalla farm road, which will benefit about 37 households, of Wangdue Phodrang’s Rubesa Gewog, yesterday.
The farm road connects Richukha and Jalla Village.
Earlier, it took four hours uphill walk and two hours downhill for the people of Jalla to reach a road head.
“It will now be easier for us to visit Basic Health Unit, go shopping, and also sell our agriculture produce,” said a local, Chimmi Dorji.

He said a machine from the Central Machinery Unit was deployed for five months for the road’s clearing.
