The Indian community in Bhutan celebrated India’s 75th Republic Day today at the Indian Embassy in Thimphu. The day commenced with a ceremonial function. Indian Ambassador to Bhutan Sudhakar Dalela unfurled the Indian national flag which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem of India.
He then read out the Indian President, Droupadi Murmu’s Republic Day address and emphasised India’s commitment to further Bhutan-India friendship.
Gyalpoi Zimpon Ugyen K. Namgyel, on behalf of the Bhutanese government, presented a scarf to the ambassador. Besides Indian military personnel, dignitaries from both India and Bhutan were present at the ceremony.
