The Indian community in Bhutan came together at the Indian Embassy in Thimphu to observe India’s 70th Independence Day.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the Indian national flag.
The Indian Ambassador, Jaideep Sarkar, read out the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s address to the Nation, which was delivered on the eve of the Independence Day.
The Gyalpoi Zimpon offered Tashi Khadar to the Indian Ambassador to Bhutan.
It was on this day, in 1947, that India became an independent nation.
