A group of artists are showcasing their artworks at the VAST Bhutan gallery. The exhibition titled “Homage to 35 Buddhas,” features 35 confession Buddhas. The exhibition seeks to honour and integrate traditional and contemporary art forms.
These are paintings of 17 artists displayed at the VAST Bhutan gallery.
The exhibition delves into the rich symbolism and teachings of the 35 confession Buddhas, revered for their role in spiritual purification.
The exhibition showcases these Buddhas through meticulously crafted displays that highlight their unique iconography.
The exhibition, which started last week, builds on the success of last year’s exhibition.
Karma Tshering, an artist from Art United said “Before, we used to solely follow the traditional style of art by strictly copying the exact thing. However, in today’s exhibition, we have integrated modern style with traditional form.”
The artists also shared that such an exhibition is important for them as they get a platform to showcase their skills.
Nima Tshering, another artist said “Such exhibitions are very helpful for us. Firstly, we get skills and it brings all the talented artists together, which allows us to exchange our knowledge and skills.”
The exhibition is open to public till the 13th of October.
