His Majesty grants semso to Datgari fire victims

His Majesty granted semso to the recent fire victims of Datgari yesterday. On behalf of His Majesty, the Sarpang Dzongrab accompanied by the dzongkhag officials, BIFA member and police official visited the victims and handed over the semso. Fire victims acknowledged His Majesty for his benevolent act.

Twelve shops at Datgari bordering town of Assam near Gelegphug, Bhutan – India border gate was completely gutted down by fire on 1st June of this month. According to a source, the fire broke out in the wee hours of the morning.

The shopkeepers could not salvage anything from the fire. Bhutanese Police firefighters were on the scene to help contain the fire before it could spread to nearby shops.
