His Majesty graces CHPC’s silver jubilee

HM+Chhukha Hydropower Plant- Silver JubileeHis Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen graced the silver jubilee celebration of the Chhukha Hydropower Plant, yesterday.

His Majesty gave Tokha to the people gathered for the celebration.

His Majesty also launched a book on 25 years of learning. The book is dedicated to all the men and women, who have contributed to the growth and success of the Hydropower sector.

As a recognition, His Majesty awarded certificates and mementos of appreciation to those who served the power plant for more than 25 years.

The Chhukha Hydropower Plant was commissioned in 1988.

While in Chhukha, Their Majesties also took out time to celebrate the occasion with the staff and families of the project. The students of Wangchhu Middle Secondary School and communities of Chhukha Dzongkhag also took part in the celebration.

The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, and other dignitaries were also present at the celebration.
