His Majesty the King summoned the Chief Justice and the Chief Election Commissioner and granted Kashos for the formation of the interim government, and the NA election dates at the Tashichhodzong, today.
The Chief Justice along with six others were summoned to the throne room and granted a Royal Kasho to form the interim government.
The Chief Justice of Bhutan Lyonpo Sonam Tobgye will be the Chief Advisor. The other advisors are Lyonpo Om Pradhan, the Chairman of DHI, Dasho Pema Thinley, Vice-Chancellor of the RUB, Dasho Karma Ura, the Director General of CBS, Dasho Neten Zangmo, the Chairperson of the ACC, Dasho Chhewang Rinzin, Managing Director of DGPC, and Thinley Dorji, the Managing Director of BBS.
The interim government is mandated to carry out the functions of the government and shall cease to exist when the new Prime Minister takes office after the second Parliamentary elections.
Later, His Majesty granted a Royal Kasho to the Chief Election Commissioner, Dasho Kunzang Wangdi on the election dates for the 2013 Parliamentary Elections. The primary round of the elections will take place on May 31, and the general round will follow on July 13.
After both the Royal Kashos were granted, the members including Election Commissioners and the ECB director received an audience from His Majesty.
