His Majesty the King appointed the Managing Director of the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA), Daw Tenzin, as the Governor to the Central Bank of Bhutan yesterday.
Appointing the Governor to the Central Bank, His Majesty also awarded Patang and Kabney to Daw Tenzin, the former Managing Director of the Royal Monetary Authority.
The appointment was made in accordance with the Constitution.
Born in 1956, Daw Tenzin assumed the post of the Managing Director of the RMA in 2003. He also served in the Planning Commission and the Ministry of Information and Communications.
He has a PGD certificate in development economics from the Australian National University.
