His Holiness the Je Khenpo has appointed the new Lam Neten of Gasa and the new Principal of the Pangbisa Goenzin Dratshang in Paro. His Holiness conferred Dhar to the new appointees at the Tashichhoedzong today.
Khenpo Dorji Tshering from Uesuna in Paro has been appointed as the new Gasa Lam Neten. He was ordained as a monk at the age of eight in the Pung-Thim Dratshang and graduated from Dodeydra Shedra. He then studied in Mysore for nine years and received the title of Khenpo.
He also received pith instructions from His Holiness the late 68th Je Khenpo Jetsun Tenzin Dhoendup and completed his three-year retreat from Chizhi Goemba in Thimphu. Prior to his current appointment, he served as the principal of the Talo Shedra.
And the new principal of the Pangbisa Goenzin Dratshang in Paro is Khenpo Gyembo Dorji. He is from Dawakha in Paro. At the age of nine, he joined the Pung-Thim Dratshang and studied Buddhist philosophy at the Dechenphodrang monastic school. He received various teachings and then went for studies in India.
He served as a teacher at Talo Shedra for more than five years. He completed his three-year retreat from Chizhi Goemba in Thimphu.
