His Holiness the Je Khenpo appointed four Lams at the Puna Dewa Chenpoi Phodrang this morning.
Neten Dorji, 48, from Trashiyangtse has been appointed as the Lam of Paro Taktshang. He joined Deodeydra Shedra in 1986 where he studied Zhung–Rigney under the guidance of Tshugla Lopen Samten Dorji. He also received wang-lung-thrue-sum from His Holiness the Je Khenpo.
Lam Neten Dorji had completed three-year retreat thrice. He had also served as teacher at the Tango Buddhist College for six years. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Zhepchey Drungchen at the Pung Thim Drasthsang.
Lam Namgay, 42, from Paro Tsento is appointed as the Lam of Chezhe Goenpa in Genekha, Thimphu. He joined Pung Thim Dratshang at the age of eight. He later studied at the Dechenphodrang Monastic School. Lam Namgay went on a three-year retreat at Talo Pangkarpo at the age of 32.
Later, he served as Umzewom at Pung Thim Dratshang. Prior to his current appointment, Lam Namgay was a teacher at Chezhe Goenpa.
Lam Yeshey, 38, from Wangdue Phodrang was appointed as Dopji Dzong Lam. He joined Wangdiphodrang Rabdey at the age of seven. He had studied at the Dodedra Shedra, Tango Buddhist College and Chari Monastery. Prior to his current appointment, he served as assistant to the Lam of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital, Thimphu.
Lam Nim Dorji, 37, from Wangdue Phodrang was appointed as Nezeygang Zangdopleri Lam. He joined Pung Thim Dratshang at the age of seven. He also studied at the Dodedra Shedra and the Tango Buddhist College.
Later, he went to Chari Monastery where he completed his three-year retreat under the guidance of His Holiness the 68th Je Thrizur Tenzin Dendup. Prior to his current appointment, he served as teacher at Sewla Shedra in Punakha.
