His Holiness the Je Khenpo administered Lhabsang ceremony at the medicinal herb plantation project site at Chhoekhorling in Sarpang today.
A statue of Sangay Menlha or Medicine Buddha will be constructed at the site as well. The five-acre land was offered to His Holiness by a couple from Taktse village in Trongsa. The land will be used for plantation of 94 varieties of medicinal herbs. The project will be initiated by the Agriculture Research & Development Centre (ARDC).
The Program Director of ARDC said they are planning site development activities such as to blacktopping the road to the project site, constructing irrigation water supply for medicinal herb plantation.
“There are also plans to construct a recreational place for elderly people along with dwelling place,” said Ngawang, the Program Director.
His Holiness also blessed the devotees gathered for the ceremony and planted a medicinal herb. Chhoekhorling village is almost 8 kilometres away from Gelegphu town.
