Another day, another record fuel price. The fuel prices at fuel depots across the country ticked up yet again to a new record high.
In Thimphu, a litre of petrol now costs Nu 100.32. This is an increase of almost Nu 3 from yesterday. And the price of diesel increased to Nu 115.70, up from Nu 103 yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Economic Affairs Minister said the fuel prices increased at the source. According to Indian media, the oil companies in India are passing the effect of a surge in global crude oil prices and weakening rupee value against the dollar onto its consumers. And Bhutan is facing the rippling effect since the country imports fuel from India.
