The Faculty of Traditional Medicine (FTM) in Thimphu launched Menjong Sorig Spa and Wellness course yesterday. With the launch, people interested in a spa and wellness career will no longer have to travel outside the country for training.
The three-month long course includes yoga, herbal bath, food and diets, meditation and massage among others.
“The course will help in employing our youths and also to preserve and promote our culture and tradition as it is Bhutanese traditional medicine based training course,” said Dungtsho Tandin Chogyel of the Department of Traditional Medicine Services.
He added, earlier people used to travel abroad to acquire spa and wellness knowledge thus adopting the international approach of spa management skills and medicines.
The course will start from 25th of this month. Four Bhutanese trainers will train interested individuals.
