Four years ago, the first parliament of Bhutan signed the Constitution. Even though it was signed on July 18, 2008, the Constitution Day is observed on November 11 to pay tribute to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the father of the Constitution.
The Constitution was drafted under the command of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo for peace, prosperity, sovereignty, and justice for the people of Bhutan.
The day also marks the birth anniversary of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.
