Jigme Wangchuk, 33, the former National Council representative of Samdrup Jongkhar obtained 5213 votes including postal ballot. He was nominated from Lauri Gewog. He has pledged to serve the people of the dzongkhag with utmost dedication and humbleness with the rule of law.
“I will raise issues that affect people in their day to day life,” said Jigme Wangchuk.
Kinga Dorji secured 2,434 votes and another contestant. Sangay Lhendup could secure 1784 votes.
